Department of Forest Conservation of Sri Lanka

Presented the Revive Project, which is a sustainable, low-cost model for restoration of degraded forest systems around Sri Lanka based on a modified Syntropic Agroforestry Model. The DFC is jointly developing the Revive Project in conjunction with the AmPark Foundation to protect vital forest ecosystems around the country.

Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka

Ampark Foundation delivered a presentation to the Additional Director General and department heads of the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka on the impacts of climate change on Sri Lanka with particular emphasis on riverbank protection, water resource management and improving the productivity of forest systems under the management of the Mahaweli Authority. The Mahaweli Authority is presently collaborating on developing multiple projects with the AmPark Foundation on AgroForestry, Riverbank Conservation and achieving Climate Resilience in Sri Lanka.

Department of Irrigation of Sri Lanka

AmPark Foundation was invited to deliver the keynote address at the World River’s Day celebration. The presentation covered the impacts of climate change on Sri Lanka and its water resources and proposed climate adaptive strategies for future water resource management in Sri Lanka. The Irrigation Department has invited Ampark Foundation to collaboratively develop and deliver projects on Riverbank Erosion Prevention and water resource management in Sri Lanka.

Ministry of Agriculture

Met with Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture of Sri Lanka and the heads of departments under the ministry. AmPark Foundation delivered a presentation on the impacts of Climate Change on the agriculture sector of Sri Lanka and proposed adaptation strategies to migrate the sector towards climate resilient agricultural methodologies. The Ministry of Agriculture and AmPark Foundation are collaboratively developing projects to increase agricultural productivity for farmers and transition vulnerable communities towards climate-smart agriculture methodologies.
